On the Docket: The Supreme Court could rule on the new CDC eviction ban as early as September.  A majority of justices have questioned the constitutionality of the previous extension.  However, the current iteration was crafted to address some of these concerns.  Globe Street

Counter Example: Japan’s massive government debt load is approaching 200% of GDP.  Despite decades of warnings about rising inflation in the country due to profligate spending, it’s government bond yields have never been lower, thanks in large part to aging demographics.  Wall Street Journal

Unlevel Playing Field: Even the most credit-worthy entry level home buyers are at a massive disadvantage in today’s market when they have to compete against investors paying cash.  Increased homestead exemptions could help.  Bloomberg

Headache: Supply chain issues are persisting as new COVID outbreaks are disrupting manufacturing around the world.  This is going to be an even bigger headache with the holiday season quickly approaching.  Axios
